How does your delivery/collection service work?

Wildes Bakery offers a free delivery/collection service in Truro once a month. It works on a pre-order basis, simply head to our shop to view our upcoming menu and see the next available delivery slot. Then place your order no later than 8pm on the Wednesday before your chosen delivery day.

Make sure you’re signed up to our mailing list to be the first to hear about any weekly specials and to get 10% off your first order.

Where do you deliver?

We offer free delivery to any home or office with a TR1 postcode. We also offer self-service collection from our home based micro bakery. See FAQ below.

Do I have to be in when you deliver?

No. It’s not a problem if you won’t be in when we deliver, however, please make sure you leave a note on the checkout with details of a dry place for us to leave your baked goodies. All orders are packaged in recyclable paper bags so a waterproof box with a lid is a great idea to keep it safe from rain and insects. If your plans change or you forget to leave any details, please just get in touch.

When will you deliver?

We aim to deliver between 12.00pm and 3pm but as a one man team, we may sometimes deliver slightly outside this window.

Can I collect my order?

Yes, collection is available from our wooden pick-up cabinet at the bottom of our drive every Friday – just pre-order like normal and select ‘collection’ at the checkout.

Our home-based bakery is based in central Truro, just a few moments from Sainsbury’s on a road called Sunningdale. It’s a quiet residential road so it’s easy to pull up outside and quickly collect your order, but please be careful not to obstruct any of our neighbours or their drives.

Orders will be available for pick-up between 1pm – 7pm on your chosen day and placed inside the wooden cabinet ready for you to pick up. Please don’t arrive any earlier as orders are baked fresh in the morning so we won’t be ready. If you think you’ll be late, please give us a heads up by contacting us and we’ll do our best to accommodate a late collection.

You can select the collection option on the checkout page after entering your billing address.

Important – Once you’ve paid, you’ll receive an email with our full address details. If you don’t receive an email within ten minutes of your order, please check your junk folder or send us an email before collection day so we can re-send it.

Why do you no longer offer weekly deliveries?

When we started Wildes we offered a weekly delivery service in Truro but over time we found demand fluctuated as most people preferred to buy in person (on the day) rather than pre-order their items many days in advance. So now we offer a monthly delivery service instead, attend more local markets and run pop-up bakery events. Click here to find out which events and festivals we’ll be at next.

Can I freeze your bread?

Yes, all our loaves are suitable for freezing and last really well for a month or two. If you use the loaf for toast, we’d suggest slicing it beforehand and then you can bring out a slice as needed and toast from frozen. Alternatively, put the whole loaf in the freezer, then when you need it, defrost fully and pop it in a hot oven for 15-20 minutes to refresh. This will make sure the crust is nice and crispy again.

Which markets/festivals are you attending?

Take a look at our where to find us page to see which markets and pop-ups we’ll be attending next.

Do you sell your bread wholesale?

Certainly, we offer whole sale deliveries in Truro, Penryn and Falmouth every Friday morning. If you’re interested in becoming a wholesale customer, take a look at this page and get in touch. We’d love to discuss how we could help.
